Thanks to Nathan Hudson who sent this description of the game pub golf, along with the associated form!

Pub golf is a fantastic drinking game which is ideal for groups of say four or more people and also for wholly unnecessary competitiveness.

For those of you unfamiliar with the game simply follow these instructions.

  1. Select nine pubs, as golf is traditionally 9 (or 18) holes then you may as well adopt the principle when selecting your pub golf 'course'. See the pub crawl section if your struggling for suitable pubs. If you can't think of nine pubs then perhaps stay at home. Loser.

  2. Hand each player a form and a pen, enabling them to mark down their score. Try not to be cunning by walking into the nearest bookies and nicking a load of those ideal little pocket sized pens.

  3. The game works like this;

    • Nominate a different drink to have in each pub. Everyone must have this drink (or perhaps a different flavour of the drink).

    • Establish a 'par' for the number of swigs it would take to finish said drink. (ie a bottle of lager may be a par 5, a shot of vodka would be a par 1 etc).

    • Each player notes their score simply by writing the number of swigs it took them to complete any of the given drinks.

  4. The loser is of course the one that finished the most over par at the end.

For fun it's typical for everyone to write a forfeit on their form (before the game begins) for the loser to carry out later on that evening. The loser can determine the forfeit by drawing the completed forms 'out of a hat' or the organiser may choose which one to do (my favourite is that they have to chat up the person of my choice).

The game is a hell of a lot of fun although of course it does rely on each participant being honest!!

(For an 18 hole game naturally have two drinks in each pub or amend the form to suit).
